Logistics consultants can help you decide which processes or functions should be outsourced and help you select an appropriate service provider.

Or, if you are considering changing your existing logistics provider, we will make sure that you find the best options to meet your needs.

We have provided solutions for customers requiring a complete outsourced solution, involving warehousing and distribution, while other customers only required a warehousing solution or a transport or courier service .

Generally, an outsourcing process may involve:

  • Map of current supply chain processes
  • Identify the number of suppliers; SKU; orders; deliveries; spaces for pallets, etc.
  • Customer profile; number and location of clients; order templates; delivery quantities, etc.
  • Identify operating costs in the supply chain
  • Identify required supply chain services and potential value-added services
  • Identifier les opportunités potentielles d'amélioration de la chaîne d'approvisionnement
  • Draft request for proposals (RFP) to include context; service required; projected volumes; service levels required; response requirements (e.g. deadlines, financial history, etc.)
  • Identify and list potential qualified 3PLs
  • Manage the selection process, including:
  • Develop a dashboard and set of criteria to assess 3PL responses
  • Review and evaluate responses in collaboration with management
  • Attend candidate presentations
  • Organize a site visit to 3PL locations
  • Help and facilitate the decision of the management team to select the preferred candidate for the detailed negotiation of the service contract.
  • Agreement on deadlines, milestones, etc.
  • Definition of appropriate measures to be included in the contract to monitor performance (for example, labor productivity, use of space, inventory accuracy, inventory turnover, on time / in full, etc.)

Our consultants can also provide and facilitate an implementation plan that ensures an efficient transition from the existing operation to the new outsourced solution. This role can be adapted to provide the level of support required by the customer.

It is essential to ensure that pricing mechanisms are linked to real cost drivers for different activities so that there is transparency on both sides to encourage performance and cost improvements, and we recommend a framework for earnings sharing initiatives.

An important feature of our approach is the development of a performance measurement and monitoring regime for the relationship between our client and the 3PL, and agreement on measures to mitigate the risks arising from unforeseen changes in the business or under the economic conditions in the future.
